Getthere Jack, Racing With Blinkers, Scores Front-Running Aqueduct Win Registers by Two Lengths Over Will of Allah for Sixth Tally of Campaign By BOB HORWOOD Staff Correspondent AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 15.— Racing in blinkers for the first time in todays Great Kills Purse, Lily-Ann Stables Get-there Jack resumed his winning ways, scoring his sixth victory in eight starts without being out of a snug hold as Eddie Arcaro let him coast to the end of the five and a half furlongs, two lengths before Isidor Biebers Will of Allah. It was another three lengths back to C. T. Chenerys Scansion, who led Gene Van Derens Toby B. by a head. A heavy choice with the crowd of 20,508, Getthere Jack paid .70 after getting the distance in 1:05%, just four-fifths slower than the track record shared by Apache and Sagittarius, who were five- and six-year-olds, respectively. The best time in the Tremont Stakes, for which Getthere Jack is pointing, is 1:05, made by Degage and Battlefield. Getthere Jack is a gelded son of Bime-lech from By Sea, by Pompey, and won his first five starts, including two stakes in Continued on Page Forty-Three Getthere Jack Never Headed in Great Kills Runs First Time With Blinker Equipment; Will of Allah Second Continued from Page One Florida. He was narrowly beaten by Pollys Jet, widely acclaimed as the best juvenile seen thus far in the East, in the Belmont Juvenile. That finish was so close, despite Getthere Jacks evident need of blinkers, that had there been a mirror picture for races on the Widener straightaway it might well have been called a dead heat. The compactly made colt with the short neck then finished third to unbeaten Decathlon and Dark Charger in the Bay State Kindergarten after bolting at the first turn. Trainer Jack Weipert, Jr., then decided to add the blinkers to the youngster, who races for John Dordan, of Yonkers. All racing operations were suspended for five minutes, from 2:10 to 2:15 pjn. and the asphalt lawn cleared, of patrons while an air raid drill was in progress. The fans cooperated fully with this dry run from disaster. P.ost time for the third race was put back to 2:25 to enable patrons to make their investments in the normal period. Arcaro shot Getthere Jack into a wide lead at the start of the Great Kills, then folded up on the bay gelding, evidently only concerned with steering him around the sharp turns, which he handled easily. C. Ulricks bay Viking Victory was closest in pursuit to the stretch, followed by Scansion, while Will of Allah dropped back to fourth place after flashing early speed. Getthere Jack drifted away from the rail a bit through the stretch, but Arcaro ; was not required to urge him in the least to preserve a daylight lead to the end, while Will of Allah moved up willingly along the rail. That roan colt, who had won his last two starts at Belmont Park finished creditably without seriously threatening, while Scansion tired at the end and had all he could do to save third money from Toby B. Jean Baptiste finished fifth before Viking Victory, who "stopped all over." The remarkably successful High Tide Stable of Edward Burke added another of its long string of feature victories when Indian File was brought up on the outside by Ted Atkinson to win the Douglas- ; ton Purse. Allen H. Smiths By Jeepers finished a little more than a length behind the favorite, while it was another length and a half back to A. J. Meslers tiring War Command. W. L. Huntleys Hilarious was a length out of the money in fourth place after being repeatedly blocked after leaving the gate in last place. Indian File, who won with something in reserve, paid .30 and required 1:12 for the six furlongs. He was confidently ridden by Atkinson, who waited behind Ace-full and War Command as that pair fought for the lead, then took the lead at will on the final turn, drawing out in a few strides. By Jeepers raced well, while between horses and finished stoutly. However, Hilarious, though he appeared a bit sore going on the track and warmed out of it, might actually have been best hv-the dash.
